Saigon continued

Headed out to the Cu Chi tunnels today, showed us one of the bolt holes they used to get in and out of, took a photo of Scotts foot next to one as it was nearly the same size.
Pretty amazing stuff they they did to fight their part of the war, bit sobering seeing all the depressions in the ground and being told that they are remains of bomb craters.
(needless to say that crawling through the tunnels was exhausting even if it was only about 100m and had been widened out for Westerners)
Some of our group took the opportunity to have a go at firing some of the old weapons (at US$1 a shot), extremely loud and not good for the ears. Also extremely expensive when they encourage the shooter to go full auto and they chew through the rest of the clip in less than a second.

Back in Saigon/HCMC we went to the war remnants museum which was interesting but very sobering as it showed the effect of the war on the Vietnamese people including agent orange babies, bomb victims etc.

Next day we did a walking tour past the Notre Dame church, old post office (designed by Eiffel) and various markets. Had lunch at a recommended bbq restaurant and tried scorpion, hmm, chewy/squishy and crunchy. (decided to not have the dog or the bull's penis dishes)

Afternoon included a massage at the blind institute, really good/hard Sandra hated it (of course),
playing pool whilst waiting for photo's to be done and then last dinner at the hotel before catching our train to Nha Trang. (not too bad considering)
